Almost an overdose! Art everywhere. That’s Miami. There is no escape. Creativity breathes (and transpires) wherever you go.
The first day in Miami began with an extended visit to the Scope International Contemporary Art Show. The show gathers hundreds of galleries and is set up on the sands of South Beach.
The artist Joel Urruty is at Scope until the 4th of this month with a collection of sculptures in different geometric shapes.
Of course, fashion is also part of Art Basel Miami Beach, and after visiting Scope International, Living Aurora dropped in on an event hosted by hipster The Webster that featured items by Coach hand-painted by artist Gary Baseman.
The party would not be the same without paint brushes and tints – Gary Baseman (photo) was at the event and did live paintings on various items. The artist also painted special objects of the guests in attendance. Creative director Maz K got a painting of Baseman on the case of his headset “I Am Plus”.
Without knowing what was cooler, the headset or the painting, I left for a relaxing moment with one of the fashionistas of The Webster, Grei Anderson.
Stay tuned for more Miami Art Week blogging and my @Krasowitz
