Stevie Boi is not your ordinary fashion executive. The multi-talented artist and fashion designer goes beyond the classic New York Fashion Week shows with his collections. This year, Stevie Boi went on a world tour – yes! a world tour just like a singer – to show his Cabin collection in countries like Germany and Japan. Boi also presented and created his work live in front of an audience during Art Basel Miami. It was an art installation with a performance appeal.
The designer has created exclusive eyewear for celebrities like Lady GaGa, Beyonce and Elton John and has had his sunglasses featured from magazine covers and even in a video game: Covet Fashion. But to create the campaign for his new eyewear collection, Stevie Boi came up with nothing less than a film titled “Cabin: the Story” (Watch here).
In an industry that depends on people being seen, the message behind Cabin (and the SB Shades SS17 collection) is to take a moment to be yourself and appreciate solitude. The film – and the collection made in partnership with Eda Frames designer Paul Vu – is both bold and unexpected… just like Stevie Boi.
