An art gallery in the cool Lower East Side and models positioned side by side as works of art . . . such was the scene of the presentation of the designer Stevie Boi, who showed his spring / summer collection entitled “Cabin” for the brand that bears the initials of his name, SB Shades.
Boi has developed glasses since 2007 and has graced the cover of Vogue Italy with one of his coveted models, but the presentation of the designer during New York Fashion Week also marked a new and ambitious project: the creation of garments for both men and women.
The designer has partnered with textile manufacturers like Weave Up and Tonic Living to present a collection with soft and luxurious fabrics. Tunics and turbans created an ethnic atmosphere while mirrored sunglasses and multicolored frames transported the audience into an earthy and warm eyewear mirage. Boi’s presentation exuded a sexy summer and a multifaceted spring.
